Rec (Landlubber) Division

We are now back up to 8 teams in the Rec league. We have taken some time to foster a new division that we’ve been calling Rec B. A huge thanks goes to Robin Edwards and Mark Ennis for volunteering their time in this. It’s a less competitive place for people 19 and over. The new teams are called the Rumrunners, Gunners, Smashed pumpkins, and the Hitmen. There have been a number of lopsided games this year due to the talent differential, but we hope these guys can be patient while we work things out for the coming season. There will be playoffs in the rec league as usual and this year for the first time there will be playoffs in the 30 plus (Quarterway) Division

Discipline Issues.

I am pleased to report from the league that this season has been extremely quiet with regards to suspensions and on- ice hooliganism. We have had almost no issues. The efforts we have all been making over the last few years are clearly working and the credit goes to all of you for making our league a much more fun place to play hockey. Keep up the great work everyone.

Guys, these four pubs are now sponsors of the league. I recommend we all support them. I also recommend to the teams in the respective divisions if you don’t currently have a sponsor or a regular place to enjoy adult beverages, go in and talk to them they’d love to see you and talk more about a reciprocal arrangement.
